Foto Bayo
The photo platform for Cerro Bayo ski resort, live through the 2026 winter season. Skiers find their own photos by run, day, hour, or photographer, and buy them the same day they were taken.
The Challenge
A ski resort is not a race. There are no bib numbers, no start list, and no finish line — just a mountain full of people in helmets and goggles, most of them tourists who are gone in three days. A dozen photographers working nine runs produce more than fifty thousand photos in a single week. Without a way to cut through that volume, a skier has no realistic chance of finding themselves, and the photos never sell.
The Solution
Skiers do not remember faces in a gallery, but they do remember where they were and roughly when. So the gallery filters on exactly that: run, day, hour, and photographer, stacked together. Someone who rode Panorámico on Thursday around midday goes from tens of thousands of photos to a screen they can actually scan. Previews are watermarked so the gallery can stay fully open, favourites and a cart let them buy several shots in one checkout, and the whole flow runs in Spanish, English, and Portuguese for the resort's mixed tourist base.
The Result
Foto Bayo went live in June 2026 and has run the full winter season at Cerro Bayo. Fourteen photographers and videographers shoot the mountain daily, photos reach the gallery the same day, and skiers buy while they are still on the trip. It is a working commercial operation, not a pilot.
What Was Built
Platform Capabilities
Filtered Gallery
Four filters stacked together — run, photographer, day, and hour. A skier who knows they rode Panorámico around noon narrows thousands of photos down to a handful.
Same-Day Turnaround
Photographers shoot on the mountain and photos reach the gallery the same day. Skiers buy while the trip is still happening, not weeks later when the moment has passed.
Watermarked Previews
Every preview carries a tiled watermark. Buyers browse the full gallery freely and the originals stay protected until purchase.
Cart and Favourites
Skiers mark favourites as they browse, then buy several photos in one checkout instead of one transaction per image.
Built for Tourists
Cerro Bayo draws Argentine, Brazilian, and international visitors. The whole buyer experience runs in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
Photographer Operations
Twelve photographers and two videographers upload from the mountain across nine active runs. Each one has a profile, and buyers can filter by the person who shot them.
Scale
A full season, every day
Ski photography is relentless in a way event photography is not. There is no single race day to prepare for — the mountain opens every morning for months, and the volume arrives daily. Uploads, storage, and the gallery all had to hold up under that constant load rather than one peak.
The payoff is a business that runs itself during the season. Photographers shoot and upload, skiers find and buy, and the operation keeps moving without anyone manually matching photos to people.
